Artists' Cyclone Relief Fundraiser

It's with a heavy heart I write this email. While I would normally be saying Happy New Year at this point and I hope you are all prospering and enjoying the last of the glorious summer days, this year the ravaging effects of the weather have left much our beloved land & communities in peril, and so many displaced, losing everything, livelihoods, homes, memories and loved ones.

Like many people around the country, I have been sitting here feeling incredibly helpless & wondering what I can do to help with the Gabrielle Storm Relief 🤍

SO, a group of artists, myself included, have pulled together and decided we can definitely do something to make a difference! We have brainstormed & gathered together our creativity and, thanks in very large part to fellow artist Racheal Mayne's incredible IT skills and incredible initiative, we are doing a

Silent, On-Line, Art Auction.

Trigger Marketing has come on board too, so you should be seeing the event in the media over the next day or two.

The line up is fantastic, 20 incredible kiwi artists.

With 100% of the proceeds going towards Gabrielle storm relief.

When? - Thursday 9th March, 6-7pm

Where? - Online, Silent Auction

Who is the Charity? We tried to find the charity we thought would provide the quickest, on the ground response, so have gone with

The Kindness Collective Foundation.

The Kindness Collective Foundation

100% of the proceeds of this auction will be donated to New Zealand charity - The Kindness Collective Foundation. From there all of the money donated will be used to help New Zealand families around the country that have been adversely affected by Cyclone Gabrielle. The Kindness Collective Foundation is a charity that connects children and their families with everything they need, from everyday essentials to moments of joy. KC has significantly increased its services to provide food, toiletries, clothing and bedding support for thousands of people affected by the Auckland floods and Cyclone Gabrielle, in Auckland, Northland, Port Waikato and Hawkes Bay since Saturday 28th January.

The need is ongoing and thousands of families will be living with the after-effects of the weather events for months, and even years, to come. 100% of the funds raised will be used to support families and communities with much-needed resources to rebuild their lives.

How the silent auction works:

  • The auction will run from 6.00 pm - 7.30 pm on Thursday 9th March 2023.

  • To bid on a painting, click on the 'place a bid' page on this website Please write the price that you'd like to purchase the painting (i.e. your bid) on the contact form. The idea is to record your highest bid in order to 'win' your painting of choice.

  • The auction will be 'silent' which means your bid will not be visible to the public.

  • 100% of the proceeds from the auction will go to the Kindness Collective Foundation (please see 'The Charity' page for more information).

  • All of the artists have very generously donated their beautiful artwork and are not profiting in any way from the auction.

  • Please note that some paintings may have reserve prices in order to protect the value of the artwork. For a rough idea of the value of the artworks please visit the website of the particular artist you are interested in.

  • Please note that some pieces of art have additional shipping costs (please see the information section for each piece of art).

  • Following the auction, you will be notified of the outcome of the auction. From here, payment details will be arranged. The winner will have 24 hours to make payment and will be required to send a screenshot of the payment to the auction organisers. If payment cannot be arranged, the painting will be offered to the second highest bidder.

  • Winners will be put in contact with the individual artist to arrange shipping.

  • A live question and answer session will run from 5.30 pm - 7.30 pm on Thursday 9th March on Rachael Mayne's instagram page" @rach_mayne_art
